hey admins and moderators is there going to be an update for cs2d like is the version 1.0.1.4 coming in cs2d i hope so
This has been told multiple times, but yet someone always asking the same question all over again. Simonas works on the new CS2D which will be mainly for smartphones, but hopefully one day for PC as well, yet he already done a ton of work already to make out the most of Blitz Engine. It's not worth the pain to make any further developments expect small fixes. DC also focusing on the Stranded 3. They also have some personal life.
/debug 1in chat to show the frames per second (FPS). If it's always at about 60 then there's no problem in your client.
Lag and such high pings are most commonly caused by a bad network connection. Don't play while downloading stuff and play at servers with a good/green ping/latency in the server list. I also recommend to play via a wired broadband connection (DSL, cable, fiber).

if cs2d would have a ghraphics meter it would be great for slow windows computer because you can low the graphics to have great fps
I'll go off with the assumption that you're not very old.
In that case, any computer that has a production date that doesn't predate your birth day should be able to run CS2D at a respectable level.
I believe that if you struggle to run CS2D, something else might be at play here.

hey DC theres a player called HACKER he used speed hacks to win in cs2d and he has aimbot so pls help me
DC could do nothing about this, if you want to get rid of hackers in that server you'll have to contact the sv admin somehow. Click F1 when you're ingame it might help to contact him.

Well DC just a guy who made the game, not like he a godlike creator who vanish all Hackers. As Xirot said, you can contact the server owner or admin to ban the Hacker.
He does not give a solid mind about not only hackers, but about the game, anymore.
Rather DC, give us your source code, or sell it, then we gonna take your things as a sample of what we want to do. You can use paid licenses(code, images and some sounds, maps)
Games, that may be based on your game and possibility to modify it in all way you want - an excellent idea, you can take money in % as unreal engine games that has popularity made on that engine.
There's many people, and me too, who would like to do something. If you don't care anymore, is so hard? Like smn doing his job alone and doing it pretty well, being busy a lot, meanwhile riding another counties and doing nice photos of nature and so on. There still exist people who having a nice potential to develop something.
Thank u
No.
CS2D should stay closed-source.
If DC can't make anything spectacular happen with the current engine, how can you? How can anyone?
Who knows the engine better than DC himself? No one.
There's little to nothing left to add, and whatever is left to add is being added whenever DC gets the time to do it.
It is clear as the sun on a summer day that the game had reached its end of life period.
The only way to "save it" is to make it from scratch.
Of course that doing so with the source code would be significantly easier, but bear with me, as I'm not done.
Making CS2D open source will give hackers and scammers everything that they need in order to finally destroy the game.
Doesn't sound so appealing now, does it?
I'm not done.
The risks don't outweigh the promises.
And not all promises are kept.
I doubt that anyone will actually do anything with the source code once they get their hands on it.
In addition to that, the source code was already released in the past here, and nobody even cared.
So if we can't promise that anyone will use the source code for good, and we do know that most people will use it for malicious purposes, why do it?
Let's just let Simonas do his thing and play the new game when it's out.
It looks much more promising and modular than anything that the current CS2D can offer.
Simonas also made it the best possible so its two people, but yeah, no open source, it would not help.
I wanted to write down here more bugs of CS2D which can be called used for cheating but I don't remember all of them exactly. But these are one of my favourites.
Who knows the engine better than DC himself? No one.
-If it's old code, written in low engine, maybe he was not a genius coder these times. As the guy above said, smn did it.
About "it would not help"
I don't want to help this game, I wanna make my own based on this and write it better on another language. Because I'm not a even novice.
I'd like to start from not a big project, easier language, enough to make a small game like cs2d view.
That's why I can pay for it, if it would help me. Nobody not need this code (I think DC too), so is okay, your opinion. But for example I need it. I see no problem. Don't discuss, is not your choice, I'm asking DC. If he don't wanna, it's okay.

@ Mora: I never said that I don't care. I actually do care a lot which is why I do NOT simply give random people access to the code. It would make breaking the game in bad ways even easier.
Making a game like CS2D is quite trivial in theory because the core game mechanics are so simple. There are only two big difficult things in my opinion:
getting the networking code right - CS2D's source won't help you a lot with that
having & investing enough time because it's A LOT of work - CS2D's source won't help you with that either
Therefore I don't think that releasing the source would lead to a new CS2D-like game. It wouldn't be wise to risk it. The real limiting factor is a person that has enough dedication and time to create a project like that. It's not the missing knowledge. All parts needed to do it can be found easily on the web because many people created games/programs with comparable mechanics already.
Furthermore if you have specific questions about how certain things work you can just ask them here and I or other people can most likely answer them.

Komo the Cat has written
Since DC have been busy and cannot remake CS2D, we community can remake the CS2D itself. Many of us are experienced with scripting, mapping and art.
Programing and scripting is two different thing, about 1% of the users could possibly make anything of it. Once again the whole blitzmax engine is old.
