The server is running on linux? If yes, I suppose you've used " ./cs2d_dedicated & ". I used that too before and servers worked for 24 hours then they were automatically being shutdown.
Of course I'm running Linux. Thing is, this shutdown thing doesnt happen every 24 hours. It just happened randomly. The server has been running for weeks on end ( with exception when I accidentally killed a dead person. ) without it closing.
Why would anyone want to crash Danny's server? I don't even think X-rated has a reason to do it.
You need to understand that most people who crash servers do not have a reason. They are lonely, sociopathic losers who come up with an *excuse* to do what they want to do anyway - try to make others miserable, the way they are miserable in their own lives. They're pathetic people living a meaningless existence. When my servers are crashed, it just makes me realize how much better my life is than some people's.
Servers don't just randomly shut down. I've been running servers for a year, and seen many peak hours with 32/32 players, and my servers have never randomly shut down.
@stanmarsh:
And I've been hosting for just as long, my bro. That doesn't change anything. A flood crash is clearly visible in firewall logs and CS2D's dedicated server logs. Nor does a 32/32 player/slot peak hour change anything I usually have between 7 and 28 players in my server, less or more players wouldn't make a difference whatsoever. The cs2d_dedicated process just ended. In the middle of a game is just ended. It is probably either a compatibility issue or a software bug.
