It is an rar-archive... You know how to handle it? It is quite similar like the file you get, when you download Stranded II (where it is a zip-archive).

Do you have something like winrar or any other data compression utility...?

In any case you just have to extract the archive to a designated folder...

since this is a modified version of the source code, I'd suggest keeping it in a separate folder. otherwise problems with other modifications might occur.

nex tyou have to run the game by executing either the exe file or one of the batch files ("StrandedII -win.bat") for windowed mode.

It mostly depends on the amount of objects and units placed on map... Maybe that could be some reason. Also you should play in fullscreen mode and close programs in background (browser...) to get best performance (If you not already did that).

I often have something about 20 FPS, and a 2,4-GHZ-CPU (Single), 256 MB display memory and 1 GB RAM...

It's like most parts are the new water, but at some spots I still see the old water. The spots are changing positions everytime and are getting bigger / smaller. Win7 64bit.

Did you set the water quality to maximum level? In that case the reflection effects of the water are activated, but which however and somehow are leading to such display issues (and Blitz3D is to blame...).
Set the water quality to medium, that's all I can say...
(or deactivate sun/moon and the clouds by choosing "clear_a.png" as texture, and maybe try some skybox instead...)

It's just the damn web-site you uploaded file to. It has virus ads and some naive people click BIG BOLD "DOWNLOAD" image and download some (virus) executables.

That's weird... since file-upload is quite popular, at least in germany, I thought...

But next official release/update will be uploaded here on US.
