Myst,
Palms give more bark than other trees.
Hard mode is very hard yes. The big vine tree loots vines AND leaves that can be used to make water. Only you will need clay pretty fast to make a bottle, unless you see a turtle and loot its liver to make a bottle. (liver+use=bottle/waterskin)
On hard it may take several days of hardship to actually establish yourself...if you can live that long.

Chiclets now mature after 4 days into Chicks, then 5 days later the Chick matures into a Chicken.
I have also added 2 new models: Amateur Bow Native and Expert Bow Native. The amateur will spawn on normal mode and they both spawn on hard mode. Both will shoot you with a bow-n-arrow from a distance, and the expert has longer range, more health, and does more damage.
I hope, that u Jack will repair that.
yes a couple tools will require nails too, in the near future.
As always...thank you all for the feedback!
I will finish it soon as I can...for now it's main system is based on the fact you have to use iron for while and can not find coal until level 150, where you can then make steel. (e.g. level 1 iron/level 2 steel)
EDIT: I had some spare time tonight, so I went ahead and set the forging up with an unlocking sequence...along with pottery too...making clay items unlock other clay items. (complete)

Download from the top of page 1 or any of my posts signatures.
Review the Change Log on page 1 or in the Game Guide included in the download.
Important - About Saved Games
Soon as you load your save game, SLEEP the minimum 3 hours or more to have your save automatically updated to be compatible. Your save may break if you play very long without sleeping...you can jump up and down a few times to get tired enough to sleep if needed.
p.s. After making pretty good progress over my holiday break, I need to take a break from working on this mod for the rest of this month. Please continue to post any bugs, ideas, or suggestions you may find/have. There will not be a new update for at least 1-2 months. I will then finish the mod to be 100% complete in it's entirety.
Hope you guys enjoy the game! I'll be playing it for now instead of working on it!

p.p.s I uploaded the update and forgot to remove a clock i use for debugging...5 people downloaded the update with this clock showing the hour every hour. If you do not want the clock in your game just re-download the update cuz i took it out and re-uploaded it.

I hope, you know that Peter's working on Stranded 3. If you would join the forces...
And great thanks to you for great mod and patient in fixing irritating bugs.
Hehe on a side note, I pointed out to my roommate that you were playing your mod, since I've been playing a game I made with an rpg maker myself, and he's been picking on me for playing my own game =P I tell him that I don't see the point in making a game I don't find fun enough to play myself, but he ignores it. Still, I haven't met one game maker who doesn't. Maybe Lionhead.
edit: Found a bug I'm guessing is more part of the engine than the mod, but while running from a native, I hopped from a rock into a tree. While in the tree and not moving, I suddenly took fall damage. Fixed the broken bone, and decided to stay in the tree while the native took poison and bleeding damage. After awhile I took fall damage again and died.

thank you all for the feedback...all considered and noted.
I just wanted to say: I went ahead and added 48 new plant models to the update. I love diversity and enhancing the environment makes it more enjoyable for me.
There 6 new trees, 12 new bushes, 26 new weeds. They really spruce up the place.
They can not be planted yet, but will in the next update. So, if your playing a saved game you will not see the new plant models until you start a new game.
The new native units make for a much steeper initial challenge, especially on a small map. Clearing eight natives and two lions immediately after starting took quite a few tries. Also got a shock to find they climb objects much more easily. Perching on top of the cave and picking them off from above isn't a viable starting strategy anymore. Initial survival is brutal on hard, and I like it.
The tick is annoying, plain and simple. I'm sorry, but whilst it is nice to have pretty sunsets, it shouldn't be at the expense of game performance. The tick definitely affects gameplay and I find myself bracing for it coming.
The random spawns are great. They tend to get easily stuck between trees though, and it's a fairly simple matter to take out the bear or wolves with a little kiting. The deer are fun, and the bats are good. Loving it.
Please reconsider the number of rocks that spawn on a small size map which can be used to create forges. I would suggest setting the default number to two rocks in order to reduce the chances that your only method of iron production spawns inside a tree or other map feature. Having a second rock on the map shouldn't significantly reduce the difficulty of playing on a small map, unless you consider the RNG spawning objects inside other objects a feature rather than an unavoidable bug.
There are some transparency issues with the new trees. Fairly easy to spot which during gameplay. I love the new objects you've added, and I'm having fun with the additional livestock and crop options. Looking forward to experiencing the seasonal effects too.
Once again giving my full thanks to JJ for an amazing mod and much love for restarting after the loss of his drive. You're the best.
forgive the tick for now, as I may remove that still because it is annoying. If I do not figure out a way to make it unnoticeable I will remove it before to long.
good to see you again bro
p.s. I forgot about those water-rocks on small maps...as i roamed a small map the other day i saw that they were few and stuck inside another object, but forgot to note it. I will make more water-rocks spawn on small maps, yes.
Second, should probably adjust enemy hit boxes. Out of every 10 arrows I fire at the big birds (the ones that stay in the sky and never land) only one ever hits them, and some of them just look like they connected perfectly. Also, I had a single arrow when attacked by a native. I ran away and poisoned the arrow, and shot point blank right at his chest. Went right through him and hit the ground farther away.
Myst, im still looking into the fall damage and will make the correct skill for crafting bottle. Nice find!
JDL, I see what you meant, the tree transparency WAS messed up. I fixed them and re-uploaded the update. They really look right now. thank you!
I downloaded it on the 20th, and after a while of game play...and making sure it's not all in my head, I've found a bug.
My iron and steel hammers do not break properly. It will tell me the handle breaks, and will even give me the hammer head back...but I still have a hammer to use. Same with the iron ax. I'm getting so many extra pieces of hammer and ax heads because it's not breaking properly. :x
Also, when I was on the sailboat and driving it around, my hunger/thirst/exhaustion weren't moving at all. And I was on that thing for quite a while, messing around.
Also, I'm not sure if this is a bug or me being stupid. I've hunted lions, and killed a few...but now they don't spawn? Do they stop spawning if I hunt them too much? The bone slab stone thing is still there, I haven't touched it. It's been almost two seasons now in the game and I haven't seen a lion.
Same with turtles, crab, and whales. Sharks are barely around, too.
Is there just a long time limit that it takes for them to respawn, or could I have possible done something to stop them from spawning?
Thanks so much. You're doing an excellent job with all these updates.
I fixed the Iron and Steel hammers...yes the gave the wrong item back when they broke. Fixed.
The raft I will have to look into, it should not matter if your on the boat or off, your bars should deplete every hour based on the season...more in summer and winter, less in spring and fall.
The lions still spawn from the lion-stone yes. The current "random" is set to "1 in 12". So there is a random chance to spawn 1 lion every 12 days. Part of what makes every new game unique is this randomness. It is just bad luck that no lion spawns for 60 days...where on another map you could have 10 or more lions spawn in 60 days.
All units have a "random" spawn number...once the island has been exploited, you will have to rely more on farming, breeding, foraging, fishing, trapping, etc...this was done intentionally, because it would hold true in real life... that your presents on the island will effect "it" in everything you do, especially hunting and killing the animals.
thanks for giving your feedback...it is why the game is what it is today. You all have really made a difference in making this mod worth playing.
p.s. Every fish you catch is taken from the ocean as all animals, making its population lower as you fish. Also, a while back I made the turtle and crabs spawn on the shoreline AND off the shoreline in the water. Look under water near the shoreline for crab n turtle too. They would most likely be near the reeds(cat-tails). They are also a Trap unit, possible to catch in traps when you build them.
