So i've been trying to open a dedicated server but people can't join it and it doesn't appear in multiplayer servers, I can only join it in the LAN tab, I had a friend to check it every time I changed something but didnt show it to him, here's the things I tried:
sv_lan is disabled port forwarded allowed cs2d in all firewall settings, even disabled firewall restarted my pc
another thing to consider is that my server is registering on https://www.cs2d.com/servers.php but it's showing a different ip than my original, i dunno if that helps
U.S.G.N. problems?
The U.S.G.N. should automatically update itself. If you have issues logging in, please check sys/usgn.dat in your CS2D folder. Make sure that the first line looks like this:
81.169.236.243|usgn.de
i created inbound and outbound rules for the 36963 udp port in the firewall settings but it didnt work aswell, i checked on a port scanner and it says the 36963 port is closed, what should i do?
You have to setup ALL firewalls (windows, additional software firewalls, router, etc.) and forward the port properly in your router (if you are using a router or a modem with integrated router). Make sure you are always using UDP. Rules for TCP won't help.
Alright, i double checked firewall and router settings but still nothing, idk if anything's wrong but this is what my router (ZTE F660) port forwarding page looks like:
Hamachi is a nice workaround if you don't manage to setup your router and firewall(s) correctly but of course it only works with people using the same Hamachi network. In some rare cases even the ISP might cause issues.
If it doesn't work it's caused by wrong settings or missing port forward / firewall rules in almost all cases.
@ _Lima_: You need an IP which stays the same during the entire play time.
This should be true for most ISPs but if you're using some special kind of connection (e.g. something which works over mobile networks) it might be a problem.
yea i think its something with my ISP, i have to contact them if there's a solution for it, thanks for helping!
Note that the ISP may or may not allow you to have open ports. In the latter case, it's better to get VPS and host your server there, although that may not be cheap.
I tried using vpn but it didn't help. I cannot find my own server in the list. I asked a few friends to create servers too, and none of them was found. What is the problem?
