You have a problem because people are using your map on their server? WHY?! Be glad that it is played! Here's a simple rule: Do not release maps if you don't want them to be played. It's hard/impossible to stop people from using your map.
Also please be more precise when creating a thread and note oooooor just turn offline lan on and nobody will play on your server/map or whatever That was a nice map. Ok?
I really like that idea. DC, why is that hard to fix the problem with stealing maps? Maybe you can make the map to be server side so they will never get the map. DC Admin Offline
People could still steal the map because it would at least have to be in the RAM or they could just hack the client to save the map anyway. I don't really want to waste time on such a stupid thing. Maps have to be shared and you should be very glad and proud that people are using your map. Upload it to the file archive before you host it on your server, so you could have proof that it was originally made by you, if you're worried about someone stealing it and claiming as their work. No, that's impossible as server scripts run at the server only. Clients never receive them because they don't need them. Maps however need to be displayed at the client. For that reason each client has to have them.
It's all about data.
Maps = typically a lot of data. It would cause huge loads of traffic to "stream" just the visible map parts to clients
Scripts = not much data (normally). CS2D servers are just sending a few control commands to clients like "show a message" or "create an image"
